Yamazaki CLOSED on WEEKENDS ?!!

This is completely ridiculous. Why don't they change the manager, instead of closing the shop. How can they have higher profit, if they are buying the drinks more expensive than I can buy in JUSCO??? The problem is not the working time, but very poor management.

Another sign that this school is dying... very sad.

Yeah, I agree completely - terrible management is the problem.

Everything in the store costs \10 to \100 more than it does at 7/11, Suupaa, or JUSCO, so why should we buy from Yamazaki? The management just insists on taking advantage of the fact that the store is the only one on campus by trying to rob us of our money, and then they wonder why we don't shop there!?!

In addition, the only time that Yamazaki has an advantage over its competitors is when the bus stops running to Urasa and at weekends, when we don't have any other choice - and that is exactly when they have decided to close. Brilliant! What a great idea...not.

Furthermore, why do they stock a load of junk that no-one buys? Examples: folders that cost half the price at Daiso, "Happy Wedding" cards, video tapes, hundreds of IUJ sweatshirts even though only 20 a year ever get sold!!

Finally, every day, Yamazaki Store throws away bags of bread and cake products because they order far too much and don't sell it!

Why are we suffering because Yamazaki Store is managed by idiots? I wonder if they could pass the MBA program?

It's rediculous and we shouldn't stand for it... what are the students and GSO gonna do about it!?!

Yes, we shouldn't stand for it. The students are prepared to act I'm sure, but seeing as we pay the GSO-EC for this kind of thing, then we expect immediate action from them.

So, what are you gonna do about it guys?

I heard their going close completely next term... then we'll have no place to go food other than shokudo crap!

Yes - There is a clear need to change or improve the current management of the baiten (campus store); which now happens to be run by Yamazaki.

No - The campus store is not going away, however we are working to se that it undergoes a change in either its management, ownership or operating procedures.

c'mon, its not so bad. you pay slightly more for its "convenience". you don't have to wait for a bus, walk, or drive anywhere.

stop being so cheap.

I'd say it would be better to buy from Yamazaki and keep it here than to boycott it.

Although, every time of the year other than the dead of winter, it is possible to walk, bike, or drive to the 7/11 that is right around the corner from us. They have more variety and better products at reasonable prices. the 100 yen items are actually 100 yen.

I don't want to see the Yamazaki shop close, but it certainly needs to be more responsive to the realities of IUJ.

But still, I don't want to walk for (hmmm...how long? 30 round trip?) to buy some stuff. I suppose Yamazaki just needs to have a better product mix and carry the items the students want.
